About Dynstar Farms Shetland Sheepdogs
Dynstar Farms is a small hobby kennel situated in the beautiful countryside of Foothills, Alberta, just a short drive southwest of Calgary.
We have been breeding Shetland Sheepdogs for more than 30 years under the Dynstar prefix. Our Shelties compete in conformation shows but excel at agility, obedience, herding, being couch potatoes, constant companions, campers, kayakers and so much more. They are a very loyal, smart and versatile breed. They are great with children and cats as well.
Our Shelties are house dogs and all of our puppies are hand raised from birth. Our dogs and puppies receive lots of love, socialization, age appropriate training and participation in enrichment programs so they can become outstanding members of society.
We strive to breed Shetland Sheepdogs of sound mind and bodies. We never breed to the trends and think it most important to preserve the breed to their written standard. Our dogs will always be correct for the breed and possess the typical beauty that the breed exudes.
We do health test our dogs before they are bred and that documentation can be provided should you choose to purchase a Dynstar puppy. All of our puppies go to their new homes with health guarantees, vet checks, deworming, vaccinations, microchips and Canadian Kennel Club purebred registration papers.
You are welcome to meet the dogs and see where they reside. One or both parents of any Dynstar litter can always be viewed.
We do not sell our older dogs as we become too attached to them and feel the breed does not place well as adults. They bond to their owners very strongly and are incredibly loyal.
We place our puppies when they are around 7-8 weeks of age. We do not ship our puppies and require them to have a fenced yard so they can be safe. You must come to meet the puppy in person so we know where our puppies are going.
Our dogs are naturally raised on a combination of raw and dehydrated diets, plenty of spring water, fresh air and exercise. We do not over vaccinate or over stress our dogs. We only use non toxic cleaning supplies and do not use weed killers in our dog yards. We think these things are very important to long living, healthy and happy Shelties.
